There has been a bookshop in Chorleywood since 1972. It has always been owned by women although not always the same women! The current owners are Sheryl Shurville and Morag Watkins. “We pride ourselves on personal service and our speedy delivery service. Most items ordered one day are delivered the next.”
The bookshop runs lots of events with various well known authors, as well as being key players in the Chorleywood Literature Festival. This spring we have Judith Miller of Miller's Antiques Guide fame on March 12th and Lionel Shriver, author of We Need To Talk About Kevin, on April 13th. In conjunction with the Watford Observer we have Anna Pavord for a Literary Lunch at Chenies Manor on April 19th. The fifth Chorleywood Literature Festival will be on November 19th - 21st.
